MSERA Institute of Zoology held an event dedicated to the World Civil Defense Day

According to the decision of the International Civil Defense Organization, every year March 1 is celebrated as World Civil Defense Day. The event dedicated to this day and held at the Institute of Zoology was opened by the Chief of Staff of Civil Defense Anar Aliyev with the words of the great leader Heydar Aliyev: "Preventing an incident is easier than eliminating its consequences after it has occurred." Later, he gave detailed information about the Civil Defense Organization and stated that this date was determined in 1972 by the decision of the General Assembly of the organization. Civil educational events are organized on the occasion of that day. More than 50 countries of the world are members of the organization. The speaker noted that Azerbaijan, which was elected a member of the international organization, has been in close cooperation with this prestigious institution since 1993. In this field, the necessary legislative framework was created, in 1997 the laws "On Fire Safety" and "On Civil Defense" were adopted. With the attention and care of the head of state, the material and technical base of the civil defense service in our country has been significantly strengthened, and specialist training has been established in accordance with the requirements of the day. On December 16, 2005, with the establishment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in our country, the implementation of a unified state policy in this field began. As President Ilham Aliyev said: "On the whole, technical support is at a high level today. In recent years, all necessary technical equipment has been purchased... In other words, there are no problems with technical equipment today... In a word, the material and technical base of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is solid, the professionalism of employees is increasing, and the teaching process is properly organized."
