Employees of the Applied Zoology Center were on the expedition

Employees of MSERA Institute of Zoology - Head of Applied Zoology Center Barat Ahmadov, a leading researcher Irada Nuriyeva and a junior researcher Saliga Gazi, were on an expedition in Sheki region.
During the expedition, hazelnut orchards, courtyards, trees and bushes in forests and parks were inspected in the territory of Sheki region, as well as fruit trees and bushes in "Green Factory" LLC Agro Park located in Orta Zayzid village of Sheki region, in "Bio Garden Organic" Co., and in a number of private farms of some villages.
In addition, Talat Mehdiyev, head of the Plant Protection and Fumigation (decontamination) Center of the Agrarian Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the monitoring of the "Brown marble bug" together with other employees, monitored the pheromone traps placed in the gardens, and found that the pest has not been infected in this region.
During the expedition, a meeting was also held with Yusif Shukurlu, General Director of ANAS Sheki Regional Scientific Center, and other employees of the center, and discussions were held about "Brown marble bug".
Meanwhile, generally accepted entomological methods were used for collecting materials, peach, plum, nectar from fruit trees, cherry, mulberry, walnut and hazelnut from sedge plants, leaves, gorse, etc. pests and their entomophages on the organs are visually detected by hand, net, whipping method, under the bark with tweezers, etc.
Note that entomological bags, glass containers, test bottles, polyethylene containers, entomological net, tweezers, brush, GPS and camera were utilized during the expedition. The collected materials were placed in glass containers, labeled and brought to the laboratory.

The materials are currently being processed for identification and the insects will be included in the collection.
