Employees of the Institute of Zoology were on the expedition

Leading scientific staff of the Laboratory of Terrestrial Vertebrates of MSERA Institute of Zoology, Dr. Biology, Associate Professor Tahir Karimov and PhD in Biology Gulbeniz Gasimova, Acting Head of the Hydrobiology Laboratory, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Süleyman Süleymanov visited the Basitchay State Nature Reserve in Zangilan district on May 15-17, 2023, organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. During the expedition, the terrestrial vertebrate fauna of the reserve, as well as the hydrofauna of water bodies in the reserve territory, were studied. The species diversity of amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals in the territory of the reserve was studied, the biotopes of the encountered species and the negative factors affecting the biotopes during the occupation period were determined. Meanwhile, hydrological, hydrochemical and hydrobiological samples were taken from different parts of Basitchay and brought to the laboratory for analysis.
