February 2 is the National Youth Day

Institute of Zoology of the Ministry of Science and Education hosted for an event dedicated to Youth Day.

The event was opened by Aladdin Eyvazov, Acting Director of the Institute of Zoology, PhD in Agricultural sciences, Associate Professor. In his speech, he emphasized that this day was approved by the decree of President Heydar Aliyev in 1997, that Youth Day was celebrated in Azerbaijan for the first time in the CIS and Eastern European countries, and subsequently, this day has begun to be celebrated in other CIS countries and Eastern European countries since 1996 after our country.  A. Eyvazov underlined that the decision of celebrating this day was an example of Heydar Aliyev's attention and care for the youth. He congratulated the young scientists on this wonderful day and wished them success in their work.

Then Executive Director, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Elshad Ahmadov, Acting Director of the Laboratory of Terrestrial Vertebrates, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Tavakkul Isgandarov, and Chairman of the Council of Young Scientist and Specialists Leyla Nadirli spoke on the importance of this day.

At the event, the management awarded a group of young people of the Institute with honorary degrees for their scientific and social activities.
