Institute of Zoology hosted for a defense of the PhD dissertation

On May 11, 2022, in the FD 1.09 Dissertation Council attached to the Institute of Zoology of ANAS, the defense of the PhD dissertation on "Pests of subtropical plants and their entomophagous in Lankaran-Astara region" was held by Abasova Nazakat Mirsahib gizi, a dissertator of the Center for Applied Zoology. The supervisor of the research is Ph.D. Assoc. Prof. Ellada Huseynova, and official opponents Dr. Biology, Professor Rauf Sultanov, Dr. Biology, Assoc. Profe. Natalya Snegovaya and Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Mahir Maharramov.

Opening the event, Executive Director of the Institute of Zoology, Chairman of the Dissertation Council, Ph.D. Elshad Ahmadov gave the floor to the applicant to lecture. The applicant said that for the first time in Azerbaijan, pests of subtropical plants, their species composition and degree of damage in the Lankaran-Astara region were studied in a comprehensive manner.
Finally, members of the Dissertation Council praised the research work, noting that the work meets the requirements of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for doctoral theses.
