Institute of Zoology hosted for the defense of the PhD dissertation

Institute of Zoology of ANAS has hosted the defense of the dissertation submitted by Mehri Isa gizi Seyidbeyli for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy On November 26. Speaking at the FD 1.09 index Dissertation Council, Mehri Seyidbeyli has presented a dissertation on "Ecomorphological features of helminths widespread in domestic waterfowl in Nakhchivan AR and the antihelminthic effect of plant preparations on them." The applicant noted that the dissertation was devoted to a modern and topical issue - the first comprehensive study of helminth fauna of domestic waterfowl in Nakhchivan AR and the study of modern methods using local plants with antihelminthic properties against major helminthic pathogens. Emphasizing that the birds were examined by a complete helminthological method, the parasites were collected and determined using a Primo Star light microscope, the speaker stressed out that she used the caprological examination method to determine if the birds used in the experiments were infected. For the first time, as a result of complex helminthological researches conducted in all regions of Nakhchivan AR in 2014-2018, 14 species of helminths - 3 species of cestodes, 2 species of trematodes, 9 species of nematodes were found in domestic waterfowl.
Then there was a wide exchange of views on the topic, questions of interest to members of the council were responded, comments and suggestions were listened, and was noted that the dissertation fully meets the requirements of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
