The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology was held

The next online meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS was held on May 18. Opening the meeting, which was held online on the Zoom platform, Aladdin Eyvazov, acting director of the institute, acquainted the council members with the issues on the agenda. He first informed about the scientific-practical conference dubbed "Fundamental and applied scientific research in zoology: current issues, achievements and innovations" to be held in October this year and stated that the conference will be dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS and the 100th anniversary of academician Musa Musayev.
Then, the election of the secretary of the general seminar of the institute, the fauna of Azerbaijan - National Information System, the inventory of the collection, the results of the certification of doctoral students and dissertators, as well as the results of the competition announced on the official website of ANAS (www.science.gov.az), and Institute of Zoology (zoologiya.az) on March 18, 2021 and in the newspaper "Elm" on March 19, 2021, were discussed and certain decisions were made.
The meeting also decided to submit for publication the following monographs: "Taxonomic spectrum of Azerbaijani fauna (primates and helminths)", "Morphology, bioecology and behavior of water snakes (Natrix tessellata) in Azerbaijan" by PhDs in Biology Nizami Novruzov and Barat Ahmadov, and "Primitive crustacean fauna of the lakes of the Absheron Peninsula” by PhD in Biology Konul Tapdigova.
