Institute of Zoology hosted for an event on "Strong civil defense aimed at protecting the national economy"

Today, the event dedicated to "March 1 - World Civil Defense Day" was held at the Institute of Zoology of ANAS. The meeting, organized online on the Zoom platform, was opened by Elshad Ahmadov, Deputy Director for Science, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, and he has given the floor to Nurlan Mammadov, Technical Safety Engineer of the institute. Nurlan Mammadov has delivered a lecture on the topic "Strong civil defense aimed at protecting the national economy", and provided detailed information about the national economy and key sectors of the economy, ensuring sustainable economic development in Azerbaijan, the role of civil defense in protecting the economy. He also has spoken about the negative factors affecting the economy, as well as emergencies during peace and war. The rapporteur has noted that underpinning the sustainability of the oil and gas industry, agriculture, food, and other industries, which play an important role in the economy of Azerbaijan, is one of the main priorities for the country. Besides mentioned issues, the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that had begun last year, and the 44-day Patriotic War waged by Azerbaijan to liberate its lands were among the emergencies affecting our economy, underlined N. Mammadov.
