VII Congress of ANAS United Trade Union Committee held

ANAS Central Scientific Library held VII Congress of ANAS Free Trade Unionon November 17.

The congress began with the execution of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the event, acting chairman of the Free Trade Union, Doctor of law, Professor Habil Gurbanov told the participants about the agenda of the event. He noted that, the tasks facing the congress are to hear a report on the activities of the defense industry for 2012-2017, to elect a new composition of the governing bodies of the structure, and to discuss other organizational issues.

Then, the structure of the secretariat, the Credentials Committee, the Counting Commission and the editorial board of the military industrial complex was determined.

Ilkin Alimuradov, Chairman of the Credentials Committee, presented the results of the inspections. The report was approved by the members of the event.

At the event H.Gurbanov presented a report on the activities of the structure over the past 5 years. H.Gurbanov said that, during the last period of the defense industry a number of works were carried out in the direction of ensuring the socio-economic interests of the members. He stressed that, material assistance was provided to low-income members, tours were organized in the countries and abroad for the purpose of effective leisure activities, various sports competitions and festive events.

The report of the Control and Revision Commission was also heard at the congress. Presenting the report, the chairman of the commission, Ph.D. in Geological and mineralogical sciences Nagi Nagiyev spoke about membership fees received from the First organizations during the past five years, and directions of spending these funds.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Free Trade Union (ACFTU), MP of the Milli Majlis, Doctor of Economy Sciences, Professor Sattar Mehbaliyev awarded Academician Akif Alizadeh the silver medal established in connection with the 25th anniversary of the All-Russian Free Trade Union for many years of scientific and social activity. Wishing successes to the work of the congress, he highly appreciated the report on the activities of the defense industry in the last five years. He noted that, the conducted works testify to the attention and care of the country's leadership. S.Mehbaliyev expressed gratitude to the President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh and the leadership of the defense industry for successful work.

Then, the election of the chairman of the defense industry was held. By voting, Habil Gurbanov was elected chairman of the structure.

Speaking, President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh expressed gratitude to Sattar Mehbalyev and participants of the event. Noting that, a number of important works are carried out to improve the conditions for rest, health, housing and labor conditions, as well as material well-being of the academy's employees, the academician noted that, recently more than 60 employees of this institution were provided with apartments. The head of ANAS stressed that, the social problems of employees will continue to be in the center of attention.

The congress also elected the Presidium of the Free Trade Union of ANAS, the new structure of the council and the Control and Revision Commission, approved amendments and additions to the Charter.
