Employees of the Laboratory of Terrestrial Invertebrates were on the expedition in Lankaran region

The leading researcher of the Laboratory of Terrestrial Invertebrates of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS, Ph.D. in Biology Ellada Huseynova and senior researcher, Ph.D. in Biology Sakina Hajiyeva were on th expedition in Lankaran region to gather entomological material for a research work dubbed “Study of the current state of entomofauna, Arachnida, and assessment of the ecological status of rare and endangered species in Azerbaijan (including the liberated territories)", on June 21-25.

During the expedition, entomological researches were carried out and collected materials by examining the meadows around the village and the river, forest areas and steppes. During the expedition, Carabus auratus (golden beetle), long-nosed beetles, as well as various species of butterflies were gathered and brought to the laboratory for identification. The materials were placed on alcohol or cotton mattresses and provided with labels.
