An event was held on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of Academician Miresadulla Mirgasimov, the first president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On December 18, an event was held on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of the first president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, a prominent public figure, the first Azerbaijani scientist-surgeon, the first doctor of medical sciences, Honored scientist, Academician Mirasadulla Mirgasimov.

Before the event, public members visited the grave of the outstanding scientist in Fakhri Khiyaban, laid flowers on his monument and prayed for his soul.

An exhibition reflecting the life and activities of Academician Mirasadulla Mirgasimov was demonstrated at the event held in the building of the Presidium of ANAS.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of ANAS, opened the event with his opening speech and said that it is very significant that the 140th anniversary of the birth of Academician Mirasadulla Mirgasimov coincides with the "Year of Heydar Aliyev", and that both Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev always highly appreciate the work of the outstanding scientist.
