The seminar dedicated to the 100th anniversary of acad. Zarifa Aliyeva entitled "The role of the electron microscope in modern biology and medicine"

On April 11, 2023, a seminar dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Academician Zarifa Aliyeva was held at the MSE Institute of Zoology.

The seminar was opened with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

There are people whose life path shines light on the lives of future generations and provides an inexhaustible treasure to the people, said Aladdin Eyvazov, Acting General Director of the institute, PhD., Assoc. Prof. He noted that Academician Zarifa Aliyeva's merits in the development of ophthalmology science in Azerbaijan are immeasurable. The outstanding scientist conducted many important studies on the study, prevention and treatment of trachoma that was widespread in Azerbaijan, especially eye diseases related to professional activity in the chemical and electronic industries, as well as modern problems of ophthalmology. Meanwhile, she is one of the authors of rare scientific works such as "Therapeutic Ophthalmology", "Fundamentals of Iridodiagnostics", including, 12 monographs, textbooks and teaching aids, about 150 scientific papers, one invention and 12 efficiency proposals.

Later, the leading researcher of the Laboratory of Terrestrial Vertebrates, PhD Hafiz Mukhtarov highlighted  that living a meaningful life is not the destiny of every person.

The leading researcher of the laboratory of Parasitology, PhD Fuad Rzayev gave a speech on "The role of the electron microscope in modern biology and medicine". In his report, he presented information about the history of the creation of microscopes, their capabilities, advantages, and the role of the transmission electron microscope in medicine and biology visually on electronograms prepared in Azerbaijan for different groups of prokaryotic organisms. F. Rzayev said that the role of the electron microscope is indispensable in the diagnosis of some diseases, in determining the biological activity of new drugs, in studying the morphology, designation, systematic position, parasite-host relations of many species.
