Employees of ANAS over 65 years of age have been vaccinated

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the newly discovered SARS-CoV-2 virus. Unlike other diseases of coronavirus origin (SARS and MERS), this highly contagious disease with atypical pneumonia began to spread rapidly in late 2019 and span around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a state of emergency for COVID-19 on January 23, 2020, declaring that the threat assessment on February 28, 2020, was too high globally, and on March 11, 2020, stated that the situation with the disease has reached the level of a pandemic.
Azerbaijan could not stay out of this virus. Despite the preventive measures taken against this virus in Azerbaijan since the beginning of 2020, thousands of people soon became infected and suffered from this virus in our country. At that time, the main task of the world was to find a vaccine against the virus. Observations have been made in various clinical trials of newly developed vaccines in a number of countries and have yielded positive results. This vaccine has been delivered to Azerbaijan for several months and vaccination of the population has already commenced. The main purpose of bringing the vaccine to Azerbaijan is to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which is currently widespread, by vaccination, thereby reducing morbidity and mortality.
Based on these measures, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is also actively involved in vaccinating its employees. Thus, on February 23, 2021, employees of the academy over the age of 65 were vaccinated at the modular hospital of TABIB. More than 400 of our employees have been vaccinated and have not encountered any contraindications. The professionalism of the medical staff and attentiveness to patients are especially noteworthy. As the vaccination consists of two stages, employees will be re-vaccinated after some time.
