Our scientists have participated in the international conference

IV International symposium on Biodiversity of infusorians has been held in the city of Sindao (People's Republic of China) on October 19-21, 2015. The Commission (IRCN-BC) of the International Scientific Research Coordinating (coordination) was sponsor of this event. US and PRC are the leading forces of this Commission. It should be noted that, 20 experts’, whose works internationally recognized, Director of the Institute of Zoology (ANAS), corresponding member, protozoologist Ilham Alakbarov’s participation in this event was sponsored by IRCN. 

The symposium, held at the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been devoted to the cooperation at the internatinal level during the modern tendencies and further researches. The rappoteurs’ speech from more than 50 different countries, including US, UK, Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan were listened in the event. Representing our country professor Ilham Alakbarov has made a speech on achievements in Ciliatology in Azerbaijan and research areas, which will be implemented in future cooperation. After discussion of I.Alakbarov’s report, joint cooperation issues on the study of biodiversity, along with PRC’s experts have been noted. In addition, the leading ciliatologist of the world, American professor Dennis Lynn has offered joint cooperation on the study of some species found and described for the first time in Azerbaijan at the molecular level. 

Then I.Alakbarov was invited to the laboratory of Protozoology. The research methods used in Azerbaijan and China were discussed. Chinese protozoologists interested in research methods, developed and used in Azerbaijan and noted that these research methods are easier and more effective than their methods in some cases.

The next symposium will be held on the island of Guam (US).
