Discussion of the dissertation of the employee of the Dry Vertebrates Laboratory was held at the Scientific Workshop of the Dissertation Council

The discussion of thesis on the biodiversity and bioecological features of amphibians in the Azerbaijani part of the Greater Caucasus was held by Gulbaniz Gasimova, a scientific worker at the Dry Vertebrates Laboratory at the scientific seminar of the Dissertation Council of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS.

The amphibians, which were first published by the researcher in the Greater Caucasus natural region, were studied in complex form. It has been established that 8 species of amphibians belonging to 2 groups, 6 chapters, 8 species (Triturus karelinii, Pelobates Syriacus, Pelodytes caucasicus, Bufo verrucosissmus, Bufotes variabilis, Hyla orientalis, Rana macrocnemis, Pelophylax ridibundus) were found in the study area. The P.yriacus species of these species have been recorded for the southern skulls of the Greater Caucasus for the first time. At the same time, according to the new find of B.verrucosissmus species, the north-eastern boundaries of the geographical range of the species have been identified.

As a result of the research, an electronic cadastral map of amphibians, spread over the Greater Caucasus natural area, was developed for the first time on the basis of the Geographical Information System (CMS). As a result of the research, the parameters of the individual populations of amphibian species and the electronic cadastral maps produced can be used as basic information in the field of environmental monitoring and biodiversity conservation in the region.
