"ANAS High Technology Park will become an important platform for cooperation in science and education"

One of the most important goals of the long-term development concept of Azerbaijan is to build a knowledge society in our country. The most important factor for this is the achievement of the "science-education-production gold triangle" as a model of social progress. This requires joint co-ordination of science and education in the teaching process, technology parks, scientific research laboratories, as well as purposeful coordination of human resources and material and technical capabilities.

The results of joint scientific session of ANAS General Assembly and Collegium of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan held in December of last year confirmed it once again. Taking into account the views and suggestions voiced at the session, a Joint Action Plan on Science and Education Integration was adopted. One of the important points of the document is the implementation of the necessary measures to transform scientific research and experience-building opportunities of ANAS's High Technology Park (HT Park) into a platform for co-operation with higher education institutions.

One of such events was held on July 24 at ANAS High Technology Park with the participation of President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh, Presidium, Minister of Education Mikail Jabbarov and other senior officials of the ministry. The purpose is to get acquainted with ANAS HP Park, with the Technology and Innovation Products Transfer Center created here, as well as to get acquainted with the activities of potential park residents.

First of all, ANAS examined the oil production facilities of the Practice-Industry Plant and Millers-Oils Azerbaijan were. Then the event participants were closely acquainted with production areas of unmanned aerial vehicles, Centralized Analytical Laboratory of HT Park, as well as Radio Monitoring System. Attracting the bachelors and masters of Baku State Oil and Industry University, Baku High Oil School and Baku Engineering University (BEU) attracted the attention of participants of the event to the involvement of ANAS HT Park in perspective projects.

Speaking at the event, academician Akif Alizadeh noted the importance of the meeting and noted that the High-Tech Park was created on the basis of President Ilham Aliyev's decree dated 8 November 2016. Academician Akif Alizadeh expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education for the support rendered by ANAS in the Park.

Academician Akif Alizade underlined that, according to the agreement signed between ANAS and BEU, opening of Business Incubation Center is expected in the near future.

Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov spoke about the integration of science and education and the role of reforms in this field in the sustainable development of our country. A number of activities are currently underway to commercialize knowledge and to support business ideas of talented youth. Projects will be implemented to make the most of the opportunities of the HT Park as an important platform for cooperation in science and education. Working Group will be established to determine the mechanism of cooperation between the ministry and HT Park, M. Cabbarov added.

The minister underlined the importance of cooperation between the two institutions responsible for education and science in our country - the Ministry of Education and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

Then Vice President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, director of ANAS High Technology Park, PhD in agricultural sciences Vugar Babayev and others spoke about the importance of the event.
