Institute of Genetic Resources will cooperate with the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan

Director of ANAS Institute of Genetic Resources, correspondent member Zeynal Akperov visited the Kingdom of the Netherlands by the invitation of the company "Rijk Zwaan", which is the leading research and production enterprise for the study, selection and seed production of agricultural crops.

The goal is to get a close acquaintance with the company Rijk Zwaan, study the possibilities of cooperation in the field of mutual exchange of technologies and scientists, conduct joint research and training of young personnel, and discuss the organization of expeditions to collect genetic resources.

Within the framework of the visit Zeynal Akperov got acquainted with the research opportunities and long-term experience of the company in the field of selection and seed production of vegetable crops with extensive use of agricultural crops, in particular biotechnologies.

At a meeting with the leadership and scientists of the company, Z.Akperov informed about the rich agrobiodiversity of Azerbaijan, the state of its study and protection, as well as the scientific, technical and human potential created in the field of agrarian and biological sciences.

During the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached, and an agreement on mutual cooperation is expected to be signed soon.

Note that, trip was attended by a specialist of the State Service for Registration of Plant Varieties and Seed Supervision under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tofik Mammadov, including scientists from Russia and Tajikistan.
