TSU chemists to reveal diseases by hair
Chemists of Tomsk State University (TSU) created a new technique for hair analysis, thanks to which it is possible to identify a person's predisposition to certain diseases and determine the level of his intelligence, the press service of the university reports on Monday.
It is specified that the hair analysis is usually carried out with the help of solutions and expensive reagents. Scientists of the Department of Chemistry TSU proposed a new method - to burn the biosubstrate in a special chamber at a temperature of 400-450 degrees and study the ash residue of the hair, determining macro- and microelements and eliminating matrix influences. The method is more accurate and allows to determine the concentration of 30 chemical elements at once.
