Institute specialists conducted a field expedition in the Garabagh Economic Region
From 25 to 31 August 2026, specialists from the Living Systems Research Institute, Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, conducted a field expedition to apiaries located in Khankendi and Khojaly districts of the Garabagh Economic Region.
The expedition involved Rafiga Gazi, a researcher at the Laboratory of Modern Microscopy and Imaging; Laman Dadashova, a researcher at the Laboratory of Experimental Zoology; and Aynura Abbasova, a junior researcher at the Laboratory of Invertebrate Biodiversity and Ecology.
As part of the expedition, monitoring and visual examinations of the apiaries were carried out, and the overall condition of the honey bee apiaries was assessed. During the examinations, various pests potentially affecting honey bee health and productivity were detected. Relevant specimens were collected and transported to the laboratory for identification and further detailed investigation under laboratory conditions.
