Institute of Zoology held an event dedicated to “November 8 – Victory Day"

On November 5, 2025, an event dedicated to “November 8 – Victory Day” was held at the Institute of Zoology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the beginning of the event, the cherished memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was honored with a minute of silence.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the Director General of the Institute, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Aladdin Eyvazov, congratulated the participants on the occasion of Victory Day. He also prayed for God’s mercy upon the martyrs who gave their lives for the Motherland and wished good health to the veterans. He emphasized that five years have already passed since the glorious victory of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. “With this victory, the 30-year occupation of Azerbaijani lands came to an end, the territorial integrity of our state was restored, and a crushing blow was dealt to the enemy".

Later, the Institute’s employee Kamran Shafiyev was awarded an Honorary Diploma for his participation in the 44-day Second Karabakh War.

Then, the floor was given to the Chairman of the local organization of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), PhD in Biology Hafiz Mukhtarov, who stated that this day is a heroic chronicle written in the glorious history of the Azerbaijani people, emphasizing that our proud and magnificent victory restored historical justice.

At the event, Zeynab Mammadova, junior researcher at the Applied Zoology Center, also spoke. She talked about how the brave Azerbaijani soldiers and officers advanced step by step, inflicting heavy blows on the enemy, and spoke about the heroism, courage, and valor of our martyrs and veterans who inscribed their names among the heroes.

It should be noted that the book prepared by the employees of the Institute of Zoology, titled “Taxonomic Spectrum of the Fauna of Azerbaijan (Invertebrates)”, was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the great victory as a tribute to our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, to our heroic veterans who showed courage on the battlefield, and to the victorious army of Azerbaijan.

The event concluded with the screening of a video dedicated to Victory Day.
