Institute of Zoology held the defense of Gulnara Tahir gizi Huseynova’s dissertation

On October 24, 2025, the next meeting of the Dissertation Council BFD 1.09/1 operating under the Institute of Zoology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place. The meeting, chaired by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Elshad Ahmadov, featured the defense of the dissertation submitted by Gulnara Tahir gizi Huseynova, a researcher at the Laboratory of Parasitology, for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Sciences, in specialty 2429.01 – “Parasitology,” on the topic “Biota of phytoparasitic nematodes (Nematoda) of wheat in the Mughan plain of Azerbaijan.”
It should be noted that the scientific supervisor of the dissertation is Doctor of Biological Sciences Aleksandr Yuryevich Riss.

Gulnara Huseynova delivered a detailed report on the relevance and level of development of the topic, the purpose and objectives of the research, methods used, its theoretical and practical significance, and scientific novelty. She provided information about the work carried out and answered questions. Afterwards, the reviewers’ comments and suggestions were heard.

In conclusion, it was noted that the dissertation meets the requirements for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Sciences, and the documents for defense were submitted to the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
