Institute of Zoology held a meeting

Institute of Zoology hosted for a meeting of Jeyhun Aliyev, Director of the “Center for Fisheries and Aquaculture” (a public legal entity under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan), Elshan Majidov, Deputy Director of the same center, the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Aladdin Eyvazov, General Director of the Institute of Zoology, D.Sc. Agriculture, and Elshad Ahmadov, Executive Director of the institute, Dr. Biology, as well as the institute’s research scientists. The meeting focused on: evaluation of fish stocks in Azerbaijan’s inland waters and the portion of the Caspian Sea under Azerbaijan’s jurisdiction, conducting joint scientific research, increasing populations of fish and other aquatic bioresources in aquaculture farms, organizing and carrying out joint monitoring expeditions with the goal of determining the overall allowable catch (quotas).

Participants exchanged views on the development of fisheries and aquaculture and put forward several proposals.
