June 5 – World Environment Day

Today is World Environment Day. In Azerbaijan, special attention is also given to environmental protection. The aim of this day is to safeguard the environment, use nature efficiently, preserve biological diversity, and raise ecological awareness among the population.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources organizes various events every year around June 5, “World Environment Day,” aimed at protecting the environment, promoting the sustainable use of nature—such as groundwater, mineral reserves, and surface resources—facilitating their restoration and conservation, and preserving biological diversity.
