Today is "World Wildlife Day"
Since 2013, March 3 has been celebrated all over the world as World Wildlife Day. The resolution establishing this important day was adopted on December 20, 2013, at the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The main goal of World Wildlife Day is to draw public attention to the protection of wild fauna and flora and to inform the public in this area.
One of the important measures taken in our country to protect wildlife, fauna and flora species is the creation of specially protected natural areas. Currently, 10 national parks, 10 state nature reserves, and 24 state nature reserves operate in our country, which accounts for 10.31% of the country's territory. The state is also implementing joint projects with international and local organizations to restore endangered species, and measures to combat wildlife crimes that cause environmental and social harm are being strengthened.
