A group of employees of the Applied Zoology Center of MSERA Institute of Zoology participated in the international conference

A group of employees of the Applied Zoology Center of MSERA Institute of Zoology participated in the International conference on "Protection of biodiversity of Eurasia" held in Izmir, Turkey in September 2024 with the joint cooperation of Ege University of the Republic of Turkey, Andijan State University of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Baku State University of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The leading scientific researcher PhD, Assoc. Prof. Irada Nuriyeva delivered a lecture on "A new invasive pest that will affect biodiversity in Azerbaijan, Halyomorpha halys Stal. (Hemiptera, Pentatomidae), Ph.D, a senior researcher Saliga Gazi on topic "Scarab beetles, damaging sugar beet agrosenosis", and a researcher Zinyat Shahverdiyeva "On the vertical spread of camelids in Azerbaijan" at the conference. Rafiqa Gazi, an employee of the center, also joined the conference online with her report "Effect of plant essential oils in the treatment of Nosema ceranae, a microsporidial disease of honey bees". In the conference held at Ege University, the staff of the Center of Applied Zoology - a leading scientific researcher Ilhama Safarova, junior researchers - Matanat Gubadova, Ulkar Guliyeva, Aynura Abbasova actively participated.

The conference was keen to promote relations between Eurasia, especially the Turkic states through strategies and revitalization of the studied ecosystems.
