Today is the International Day of Forests

In 2012, the UN General Assembly announced March 21 as the "International Day of Forests (Forests and Trees)". Today, the ecological importance of all forest types is emphasized, and attention is paid to their protection and increase. Every year, this day is remembered by tree planting actions, regional and international activities, promotion and propaganda works in the countries.

Sustainable forest management plays an important role in combating climate change, eradicating poverty and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In 2023, the International Day of Forests is celebrated around the world under the motto "Forests and health". Forests clean water and air for our health, act as carbon sinks in the fight against climate change, and improve our well-being.

It is up to us to protect these precious natural resources.
