Institute of Zoology held the defence of the PhD dissertation
On October 31, 2022, at the FD 1.09 Dissertation Council operating under the Institute of Zoology of the Ministry of Science and Education, was held the defense of the doctoral dissertation on the topic "The impact of temperature and photoperiod to the biology of the beet weevil (aphis fabae scop.)" majored in 2413.01-Entomology, by Isgandarova Gunay Zahid gizi, an employee of the Center of Applied Zoology of the institute.
The scientific leader of the research is Ph.D. in Biology, Assoc.Prof. Barat Abdul oglu Ahmadov, and his official opponents are Dr. Biology, Prof. Rauf Lutvali oglu Sultanov, Dr. Biology, Assoc. Prof. Kazim Garakishi oghlu Huseynov and Ph.D. Assoc. Prof. Zohra Yusif gizi Musayeva.
Dr. Biology Elshad Ahmadov, the Executive Director of the Institute of Zoology, the chairman of the Dissertation board, who opened the event gave the floor to the applicant to make a lecture. G. Isgandarova said that for the first time in Azerbaijan, the influence of temperature and photoperiod on the reproduction and development of the beet leaf mite (Aphis fabae Scop.), which is one of the serious pests of sugar beet, was studied in detail.
At the end of the meeting, the members of the Dissertation Council highly appreciated the research work and noted that the work met the requirements set for dissertations by the High Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
