The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology was held

On November 1, 2022, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology of AR Ministry of Science and Education, was held. Opening the meeting, Acting Director of the institute, Ph.D in Agrarian Sciences, Associate Professor Aladdin Eyvazov, informed the members of the council about the issues on the agenda.

At the beginning of the meeting, the annual reports of the laboratories of Terrestrial Vertebrates and Paleozoology, and the Zoological Museum were listened. First of all, after providing detailed information about the activity of the laboratory in the current year, the head of the Laboratory of Terrestrial Vertebrates, Ph.D., Associate Professor Tavakkul Iskandarov, brought to the attention of the council members the publishing activities of the laboratory employees during the year. Later, the director of the Zoological Museum, Ph.D. Sabina Bunyatova noted that 2 theses and 1 textbook of the museum staff were published in 2022, and gave information about the inventory of entomology collection materials stored in the Laboratory of Terrestrial Invertebrates. Acting head of the Paleozoology Laboratory, Ph.D.  Konul Tapdigova, in addition to informing about the scientific research work carried out in the laboratory in the current year, talked about the inventory of the materials available in the laboratory and the collection fund created on their basis.

Scientific secretary of the institute, Ph.D., Associate Professor Sara Aliyeva drew attention to the publication of monograph entitled "Amphibians of the Great Caucasus Natural Region" by a leading researcher of the institute, Ph.D. Gulbeniz Gasimova.

The employee of the institute Ph.D. Simuzer Oruj gizi Mammadova was solicited for the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to grant the scientific title of docent in 2429.01- "Parasitology" specialty for her scientific activity.

Finally, various issues were scheduled and relevant proposals were made.
