Institute of Zoology hosted for the defense of the Ph.D. dissertation

On December 28, 2021, in the FD 1.09-Dissertation Council of the Institute of Zoology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the teacher of Sumgayit State University, dissertator of the Veterinary Research Institute Aysel Nuhbala gizi Agayeva defended her Ph.D. dissertation on the specialty 2429.01 - "Parasitology" on topic “Study of bioecological features of the main helminthic pathogens of sheep in Absheron region”. The scientific supervisor of the dissertation was corresponding member of ANAS, Doctor of Biological sciences, Professor Saleh Maharramov, and the official opponents were Doctor of Biological sciences, Associate Professor Gara Fataliyev, Doctor of Biological sciences, Professor Etibar Mammadov, Ph.D. in Biological sciences, Associate Professor Amaliya Hasanova.

Opening the event, Executive Director of the Institute of Zoology, Chairman of the Dissertation Council, Doctor of Biological Sciences Elshad Ahmadov noted that 9 articles, 9 conference materials and 1 recommendation reflecting the main content of the dissertation were published on the basis of research materials.

Note that the helminths have not been studied in detail in the study areas, so the results are new and are of great importance not only for the region, but also as a theoretical and scientific basis for the fauna of Azerbaijan.
The dissertation conducts the study of the main helminth fauna in sheep on private and farm farms in the Absheron region, the high extensiveness and intensity of all major helminths in the region.

At the end of the meeting, members of the Dissertation Council have gauged the research work, noting that the work meets the requirements of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
