The next reports were listened at the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology

The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS was held on November 18. At the meeting held in accordance with the rules of the quarantine regime, Acting Director of the institute, PhD in Agrarian Sciences, Associate Professor Aladdin Eyvazov informed the council members about the issues on the agenda. Then he gave the floor to the head of the laboratory, Dr. Biology Gara Fataliyev, to inform about the work done by the staff of the Institute's Parasitology Laboratory this year.
Providing information about the activities of the laboratory, the scientist made a detailed report on "Identification of major helminthiasis pathogens that cause serious economic damage to the productivity and sustainable development of domestic animals and birds in the Kur-Araz lowlands and Araz coastal areas, development of preventive measures against them", he notified that the natural foci of spread of species like Fasiciola hepatica, F.gigantica, Moniezia expansa, M.benedeni, Echinococcus granulosus (larval stage), Dictyocaulus filaria, Trichocephalus ovis, have been identified in the Kura-Araz lowland and researching is going on.
Then the annual report of the Mingachevir Scientific-Experimental Base of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS for 2021 was listened. The director of the base Hijran Isgandarova spoke on "Biodiversity of parasitic fauna of animals living in water bodies and aquaculture in Azerbaijan, the study of pathomorphological changes in hosts affected by nanoparticles (fish, mollusks) and their parasites (helminths)” and noted that the experiments were carried out on the subject given to the Base over the years 2021 -2023, 4 packs of grass carp and 2 packs of thick larvae were taken and raised in concrete ponds, as well as fish feeding in water ponds and water temperature dependence were observed.
At the end of the event, both speakers answered the questions of the participants and the reports were considered advisable.
