The staff of the Institute of Zoology faced with heavy bereavement

Today, a senior researcher of the Laboratory of Terrestrial Vertebrates of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS, Ph.D. in Biology Mammadrzayeva Esmira Tapdig gizi has passed away.
Esmira Tapdig gizi Mammadrzayeva was born on April 8, 1960, in the village of Lak, Ujar region. In 1968, she went to the 1st grade in Dalgilinjli village of Kalbajar region, and in 1978, she finished secondary school No. 2 in Gazakh. In 1979 she entered the faculty of Biology of the Azerbaijan State University named after S.M. Kirov, in 1984 she graduated from that faculty and began her career at the Institute of Zoology. In 2004 she defended her dissertation on "Population variability of common wild mice in the Eastern Caucasus" and received a doctorate in biology.
E. Mammadrzayeva is the author of more than 40 scientific articles. For the first time, using complex (ecological, morphological, morphophysiological, morphometric, and cytogenetic) methods, she studied the common wild mouse species (Microtus arvalis Pallas, 1779) in three geographical regions (Greater Caucasus, Lesser Caucasus, and Talysh).
The dear memory of Esmira Mammadrzayeva, a smiling and valuable person who has made invaluable contributions to the science of Zoology, will always live in the hearts of those who knew her.
