Annual report of ANAS’s young scientists

The next online meeting of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS (CYSS) took place.

The reports of the Councils of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Departments of Humanities, Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, as well as the Ganja Branch on the results of the current year were listened at the event.


In advance, the memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute of silence.


The meeting was opened by the chairman of CYSS, PhD in Physics, Associate Professor Famin Salmanov, who congratulated the participants of the event, as well as young scientists and specialists of ANAS on the glorious victory. He noted that despite the fact that a significant part of the reporting year coincided with the quarantine regime in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, significant progress has been made in the scientific and social activities of the council. He noted that this year a lot of work has been done to create a unity of science and education, increase the popularity of science, develop the potential of Azerbaijani youth in accordance with modern requirements, the integration of young professionals into world science.


Second Multidisciplinary International Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists was held on March 4-6, 2020, and next time our local young scientists in all scientific fields had the opportunity to meet with their foreign colleagues. The young people of the academy were also involved in foreign internships, successfully participated in local and international grant projects, conducted joint research with foreign colleagues, and published their scientific results in impact factor journals, Salmanov stated.


Next, scientific secretary of the Department of Humanities, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Eshgana Babayeva, scientific secretary of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences, PhD in Biology Ulduza Mehvaliyeva and scientific secretary of the Ganja Department Elnur Hasanov presented their reports at the meeting. Speakers spoke about the tasks arising from the orders of the President, the decisions of the Presidium of ANAS, conferences and scientific seminars, published books and monographs, as well as articles published in impact factor journals, participation in grant projects, international events, personnel issues and important issues. They provided detailed information about scientific achievements, listed the work to be done by the councils of the department they represent next year, and exchanged views on the problems faced by young people and ways out.


Then, Board members - Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Afsun Sujayev, PhD in Philology Associate Professor Nail Gurbanov, PhDs in Biology - Zenfira Gadimova, Sabina Bunyatova and other participants of the event spoke and expressed their views and suggestions on the reports.


Finally, the reports were submitted and acclaimed by Board of CYSS.
