A prominent zoological scientist died

A leading scientific worker of the Terrestrial Vertebrate Laboratory of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS, PhD in Biology Ahmedov Sahib Baylar oglu died in his 70th age.

Sahib Ahmadov was born on July 1, 1949 in Khalafli village of Jabrayil region. He entered into the Khalafli village secondary school in 1956 and graduated from high school in 1966. He entered into the Biology faculty of the Azerbaijan State University in 1967 and successfully graduated from this university in 1972. He worked a teacher at various educational institutions in 1972-1978. He entered into the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan SSR in 1978 and graduated from this educational institution in 1981. He worked as a laboratory assistant at the Institute of Zoology during 1981-1984 and as a junior scientific worker and researcher in 1984-1992. He successfully defended his dissertation on the topic "Synergies of Transcaucasia" under the leadership of Doctor of Biological Sciences Nikolay Nikolaevich Sherbak in 1992 and gained a PhD degree in Biology and a title of Associate Professor in 2011. He was a head of the Herpetology Laboratory of the Institute of Zoology in 2006-2017, and a leading researcher at the Terrestrial Vertebrate Laboratory since 2017.
