The 5th International Mediterranean Symposium on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants held in Turkey
The 5th International Mediterranean Symposium on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MESMAP-5) held in Turkey.
Our country was represented by Director of ANAS Institute of Dendrology, corresponding member of ANAS Tofik Mammadov and delivered papar on “Comparative analysis of plant biodiversity of the Hyrcan flora” and briefly spoke about the current state of the biodiversity of the Hyrcan flora and the work done to protect it.
The scientist noted that, the institute's employees conduct a comprehensive monitoring of the flora of Hyrcanus and investigate rare and endangered plants.
As a result of observations, it was found that the flora of Hyrcan decreased in comparison with previous years, and many species are endangered.
T.Mammadov said that, monitoring and analysis of the causes of plant degradation were carried out and the threat criteria for these plants were determined. During the study, biological features of the species, causes of changes in natural resources and protection measures were developed, as well as herbariums were collected.
