"Winter School of Young Biologists - 2019" kicked off

ANAS Division of Biological and Medical Sciences and ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists organized “Winter School of Young Biologists – 2019” for young scientists and specialists conducting research in the field of biology and medicine, for masters, doctoral and PhD students at ANAS Institute of Biology and Biotechnology on February 27.

Speaking at the event, Academician-Secretary of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences, academician Ahliman Amiraslanov noted that, the organization of various winter schools in the Academy serves to attract young people to science. Such events contribute to the development of young people.

The scientist in his speech said that, the dedication of this year’s winter school to the science of biology is a result of the development of the relevant field in science and added that as a result of development, such areas as molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, biomedicine, etc.

It was noted that, under the leadership of academician Jalal Aliyev was established the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, a prominent scientist has always paid special attention to the development of youth interest in science. Today, in the institution created by him, this tradition continues.

Then, ANAS Vice-President, Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, academician Irada Huseynova told about the created favorable conditions for the development of science in the country and among young people. She noted that, the youth policy pursued by the national leader Heydar Aliyev and AR President Ilham Aliyev today is a priority in the Republic.

The events held in ANAS, the creation of a magistracy at ANAS is a contribution to this direction.

In turn, chairman of ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, PhD in Physics Famin Salmanov told about the winter school program, which will last 3 days.

Then, academician I.Huseynova delivered a report on “From molecular biology to modern agriculture and towards medicine: a new view on problems”.
