General meeting of "Azerbaijan Botanists Association" Public Union

The first meeting of Azerbaijan Botanists Association (ABA) was held at the Institute of Botany of ANAS.

The event was opened by the chairman of the Association, director of the institute, academician Valida Alizadeh and familiarized the participants with the issues on the agenda. He noted that the work carried out in connection with the state registration of the society by the Ministry of Justice, as well as the composition of the organization has changed.

At the meeting, responsible secretary of the ABA, doctor of biological sciences Dilzara Aghayeva presented the form of the membership card and informed on the rules for admission to the membership.

At the event, wide discussions were held on the holding of annual meetings, the creation of the official website and the format of printing in accordance with the activities of the society.

Corresponding member of ANAS Elshad Gurbanov, Doctor of Biological Sciences Aydin Askerov, Doctor of Biological Sciences Eldar Novruzov, Doctor of Biological Science Vahid Farzaliyev, Doctor of Biological Science, prof. Sayyara Ibadullayeva, Ph.D. in biology Esmira Alirzayeva and Ph.D. in biology Rashad Salimov made speeches and recommendations on the organization of educational seminars and botanical tours for the purpose of organizing events and involving them in projects to support the development of young professionals in the regions, as well as protection of plant diversity.

In the end, issues raised on the agenda were unanimously adopted.
