A WORKSHOP HAS BEEN HELD BY THE EMPLOYEE OF LABORATORY OF DRY INVERTEBRATES

A report by Kamala Isayeva, a junior scientific worker at the Dry Invertebrate Laboratory was heard on the subject "Coleoptera, Scolytidae buckwheat beetles damaging the forest and fruit trees in the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus and their entomophageal" on June 21, 2018, at the Institute of Zoology. The researcher provided extensive information on the genus composition of 30 species of 15 genus spread on the research area and their dissemination, the bioecological features of the primitive lubricants. At the same, 20 species of entomophags belonging to four groups involved in the biotechnology in the study area were identified, disseminated, and contained some bioecological features. Taking into account the negative effects of the chemical attack against pests, it was emphasized the importance of using entomophages (parasites and predators) in the biological method. More effective entomophagy has been identified in the fight against bugs during the study.
