Employees of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS visited the Institute of Zoology of the Russian Academy of Sciences

A junior researcher of the Dry Invertebrates Department, Nigar Yusifova and senior laboratory assistant of the Public Relations Department of the Institute of Zoology Hamya Tahirova were at business trip on February 2-9, 2018 at the Institute of Zoology at the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg.

N.Yusifova has discussed about the DNT barcoding (DNA Barcoding) of daytime butterflies of Talysh region with senior researcher of the Department of Caryosystematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the leading researcher of the Department of Biology and Soil Science at the St. Petersburg State University.

H. Tahirova passed a course on modern classification of dry molluscs, their propagation spaces, have also experimented with their methods of contemporary methods and adopted the methods of detention in the collection under the leadership of a senior researcher at the Laboratory of Maritime Research and curator of dry and sweet water molluscs at the Institute of Zoology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Pavel Kiyashko.

N.Yusifova and H.Tahirova got acquainted with the exposed mammoths, as well as exponents of species belonging to different groups of animals from the era of ice age in the museum of the Institute of Zoology of REA.

During the visit, the staff of the institute has met the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Ribach Biological Station under the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikita Chernetsov, Head of the Laboratory of Insects Systematics, Doctor of Biological Sciences Sergei Sinyov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Kirill Galaktionov, PhD on Biological Sciences Igor Danilov. During the meetings, the parties exchanged views on joint work with young specialists of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS.
