ANAS marked Academician Hasan Aliyev’s 110th universary

ANAS Main building by support of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry held Republican Scientific Conference on "Hasan Aliyev-110: Contemporary Soil Science Problems" dedicated to the prominent scientist, public and political figure, statesman, State Prize laureate academician Hasan Aliyev’s 110th anniversary, on December 22.

Before the event, the conference participants honored the memory of Academician Hasan Aliyev in the Alley of Honor, laid wreaths and bouquets of flowers on his grave.

Opening the plenary session, Academician-Secretary of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, academician Ahliman Amiraslanovsaid that, the conference was organized in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev "On holding the 110th anniversary of Academician Hasan Aliyev".

Then, the deputy of the Milli Majlis, chairman of the Aksakkal Council of the Azerbaijan Republic Fattah Heydarov, who shared his memories about the scientist. He noted that, having visited all parts of the republic, Hasan Aliyev was very attached to the homeland, the land and the people, devoted his whole life to the development of the national science, especially the protection of nature and the environment.

At the event Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Agrarian Policy Eldar Ibrahimov said that, Hasan Aliyev's scientific work is devoted to preserving the integrity of nature and protecting biological diversity, which is the most important global problem of peace in the modern period; the scientist identified the negative processes that occur in nature as a result of human exposure and announced the alarm for the implementation of urgent measures to eliminate them.

Speaking with the report "Rich scientific creativity of academician Hasan Aliyev", adviser of ANAS on agrarian issues, academician Garib Mammadov spoke about the merits of an outstanding scientist in the development of natural sciences, as well as in the field of environmental protection. Noting that Hasan Aliyev is one of the authors and responsible editors of the monograph "Soil of the Azerbaijan SSR", published in 1953 in Russian, he added that the book deeply analyzed the state of soil formation in the republic, for the first time a comprehensive scientific analysis of all taxonomic units in the classification soils.

The speaker said that, being a leader of a number of organizations and engaged in serious public and pedagogical activities, H.Aliyev made fruitful use of his scientific potential and conducted successful research. He noted that, having thoroughly studied the scientific-theoretical and practical problems of soil science, the academician considered the geography of soils to be the most important area of soil science.

Noting that, academician Hasan Aliyev was a simple, industrious, indifferent, sensitive, intelligent person, the speaker shared his memories of the scientist.

Then, Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, ANAS corresponding member Alovsat Guliyev reported on "Memories of Academician Hasane Aliyev". Speaking about the life and scientific activity of the academician, he noted that, he was a patriot, caring and sensitive scientist, always strived to instill in people a sense of love for nature.

A.Guliyev said that, in 1952 the scientist was elected a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR, in 1974 he was awarded the title of "Honored Scientist", in 1978 he became a laureate of the State Prize of Azerbaijan. Noting that, even earlier, in 1944-1949 a prominent scientist served as deputy director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry for scientific work, A.Guliyev told about the merits of academician Hasan Aliyev in the development of the institute, shared his memories.

Further, Department of Geography academician Hasan Alieva, Doctor of Philosophy at Agrarian University, Anver Aliyev delivered a lecture on "Academician Hasan Aliyev in my Excellencies".

Musa Guliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Milli Mejlis Committee on Health, Deputy Head of the Laboratory "Genesis, Geography and Cartography of Soils" of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Academician Magerram Babayev, Associate Professor of the Department "Geographic Ecology" of Baku State University, Allahverdi Dolkhanov, PhD in Biology others, who told about the life and scientific activity of academician Hasan Aliyev, shared their memories of a prominent scientist.

Then, son of the late academician, Honored Architect Rasim Aliyev, who shared his memories of his father and expressed his family's gratitude to the leadership of ANAS and all participants of the scientific conference.

The event was continued by the sessions of the sections "General Soil Science", "Agroecological Problems, Rational Use, Cadastre and Soil Assessment", "Agrochemistry and Soil Fertility", "Melioration, Reclamation, Protection and Soil Erosion".
