Omar Eldarov has created created majestic examples of culture

ANAS Research Center of “Azerbaijan National Encyclopaedia” held the event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding sculptor, rector of the Azerbaijan Academy of Arts, People's Artist and the laureate of the Order "Heydar Aliyev", academician Omar Eldarov on December 22.

Representatives of the state and government, famous figures of science, culture and art of the country attended the event.

At the beginning the participants of the event got acquainted with the exhibition reflecting the rich work of Academician Omar Eldarov.

The jubilee event held by the organizational support of the House of Scientists was opened by the President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh, who spoke about the world of art of the National artist, his contributions to the Azerbaijani culture, in particular, sculpture. He noted that, by creating beautiful monuments of Azerbaijan's brilliant personalities, Omar Eldarov enriched the school of sculpture.

Academician A.Alizadeh brought to the attention that the master was also an active participant in the social and cultural life of Azerbaijan. The art samples created by him occupy a worthy place in many museums around the world.

The head of ANAS congratulated the jubilee on awarding him the highest award of the republic - the Order "Heydar Aliyev".

Then, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Composers Union, correspondent member of ANAS Firangiz Alizadeh told about the merits of the master in the development of Azerbaijani culture and monumental sculpture. It was said that, O.Eldarov is the author of monuments and sculptures that perpetuated the memory of many outstanding personalities of Azerbaijan. A monument to the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, a tombstone of a prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva and "Elegy" dedicated to her memory.

At the event People's Writer Chingiz Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan Elbay Hasimzadeh, People's Artist Farhad Khalilov, Director of the Institute of Architecture and Art, corresponding member of ANAS Ertagin Salamzadeh told about high human qualities of O.Eldarov, congratulated the hero and wished him new creative successes.

In conclusion, academician Omar Eldarov noted that, he feels proud of the awarding of the Heydar Aliyev Order. Expressing gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event, O. Eldarov spoke about the history of world art and noted that this kind of art is based in Azerbaijan on ancient roots.

Stressing that the great leader Heydar Aliyev constantly paid special attention to the cultural and art figures, Omar Eldarov expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the high appreciation of his work.

The jubilee event continued with the artistic part.
