Azerbaijani scientists attended the event held in Brussels

Within the framework of the "Eastern Partnership (EaP)" program of the European Commission for Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation held a panel session on science and innovation "EaP" in Belgium, Brussels.

Our country was represented by the vice-president of ANAS, academician Ibrahim Guliyev, head of the Office International Relations of the Presidium's Office, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva and Executive Director of the for the Development of Science Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elchin Babayev.

The meeting briefly outlined the current state of science, technology and innovation in Azerbaijan and stressed the readiness of various structures of Azerbaijan (DSF, ANAS and others) to expand scientific cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership program.

The panel session also discussed the issue of participation of the Eastern Partnership countries in the Horizon 2020 program, problems and prospective opportunities. In addition, an exchange of views was held with regard to the new calls for subsequent years, as well as works done under the programs "SPIRE", "Marie Sklodovska-Curie", "COST", "Smart Specialization", etc.

In conclusion, in order to expand the possibilities of using these programs, it was decided to create a Working Group consisting of the national coordinators of the Eastern Partnership countries for EU4Innovation.
