President of ANAS attends World Science Forum in Jordan

The World Science Forum started in Jordan on November 7 with the slogan "Science for Peace".

The forum is attended by about three thousand prominent scientists from more than 120 countries, including Nobel Prize laureates, academics and politicians. The event is hosted by the King of Jordan at the King Hussein bin Talal Center on the Dead Sea coast, organized by the head of the Royal Society of Scientists, Sumaya bint al-Hassan. Our country is represented by a delegation led by academician Akif Alizadeh, the President of ANAS, at the international conference of world scientists.

The four-day event will focus on the global challenges of science, new factors in the development of science and technology, scientific achievements in the field of peace and security in the world.

Jordanian King Abdullah II, Hungarian President Janos Ader, members of the Royal Jordanian Family, and parliamentarians and government leaders attended the opening ceremony.

The event was opened by Prince Sumaya bint al-Hassan.

Janos Ader, General Director of Science Foundation of Ireland M.Ferguson, Minister of Science and Technology of South Africa G.Pandor, President of Japan Science and Technology Agency M.Hamaguchi, Executive Secretary from Austria of Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization L. Zerbo, King Abdullah II's uncle Amir Hasan bin Talal made speeches.

Finally, King II Abdullah presented awards to a number of prominent scientists from Jordan.

Representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in the Kingdom of Jordan, including Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Jordan Sabir Agabeyov and adviser I.Aliyev, executive director of the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elchin Babayev, academician Ibrahim Guliyev, academician-secretary of ANAS, academician Rasim Algulievparticipated at the opening ceremony of the forum at the invitation of Prince Sumaya bint al-Hassan.
