The next cooperation program on “Science for Peace and Security (SPS)” of NATO has been announced.

The next cooperation program on “Science for Peace and Security (SPS)” of NATO has been announced.

The projects will be presented in the program should cover the following priority areas:

International efforts for mutually beneficial cooperation in common interesting issues and opportunities, resolving of security problems:

a. The fight against terrorism;

b. Energy security;

c. Cyber Defense;

d. Defense from chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) means;

e. Ecological security.

 

2. Strengthening support in operations and missions of NATO.

3.  Strengthening of awareness on security through early warning in order to prevent crises:

a. Security-related advanced technologies;

b. Border and port security;

c. Detection and clearance of mines and unexploded ammunition;

d. Social aspects related to the security of NATO's strategic objectives.

 

4.  All projects, not mentioned in the list of priorities, but closely related to the security problems could be considered within the framework of SPS.
