Institute of Zoology of ANAS grows fish and medicinal leech in Mingachevir

Commodities and decorative fishes and medicinal leeches (Hirudo medicinalis) are grown in the lakes of the Mingachevir Scientific-Practical Laboratory of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS.

At present, the Institute deals with the study of morphological, ecological, parasitological investigation of the diseases of various ages, white amphoras and thick fishes in the lakes of Mingachevir Scientific-Practice Laboratory, development of scientific bases for the prevention and treatment of their illnesses, as well as the Research work "Development of artificial doping technology of medicine" is underway.

For this purpose, all the lakes of the laboratory have started melorising works since March 2017. The fishes in the lakes are fertilized and extracted from the salt melt and margin, assorted and distributed to the lakes accordingly.

On October 12, Director of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS, PhD in Physics Elman Yusifov, Head of Hydrobiology Laboratory Adil Aliyev, Head of International Relations Department Konul Tagiyeva and Head of Human Resources Department Khuraman Novruzlu visited the Mingachevir Scientific-Practice Laboratory to study the progress of the project.
