Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan held event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic

Executive Director of the SDF  Elchin Babayev spoke about the short but glorious history of the ADR, touched on the great political difficulties and obstacles that arose in the creation of a democratic state. He noted that, the protection of the state is more complicated than its creation. E.Babayev compared the tense political situation in the 1990s with 1918 years, spoke about the complexity of the two eras, the threat of a split in the country and the country's release from this threat by achieving national sovereignty by the national leader Heydar Aliyev. It was noted that although the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, which possessed the first democratic institutions in the East, was short-lived, the modern independent Azerbaijan Republic, founded by the great leader Heydar Aliyev, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev turned into a prosperous and stable state with a strong army, a strong economy and international relations.

E.Babayev also spoke about the contribution of the organization he leads to the 100th anniversary of the ADR. It was noted that on this occasion the Foundation for the Development of Science in German with an elegant design issued a bio-bibliographic lexicon entitled "The Muslim Azeri elite of Karabakh in political unrest and on the road to modernization." The authors of the book are the head of the Department of History of Azerbaijan at the Berlin University. Humboldt in Germany, prof. Eva-Maria Aukh and professor of the same chair Rasim Mirzaev. The book, which is the product of the same grant project, was published as a result of joint research by German and Azerbaijani researchers. The purpose of this publication is to convey all the details of the development of the Azerbaijani elite of Karabakh to German and other international researchers. The information in the book shows that this region is an integral part of Azerbaijan in the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The purpose of publishing the book is to demonstrate to the public of the German-speaking countries, as well as the international community, the exceptional role of the Karabakh region in the formation of the national thought and statehood of Azerbaijan through an extensive analysis of the collective biography.

It was stressed that, the book is very important from the point of view of propaganda of the history of Karabakh and its rich cultural heritage by providing information about the role of activists in education and the national movement in the Karabakh region.

The event featured fragments from the documentary film "The Last Meeting" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of ADR, the general producer of which is Arzu Aliyeva.
