7th Republican competition “Tomorrow's Scientists” kicked off

The opening ceremony of 7th Republican competition “Tomorrow's Scientists” kicked off on February 14.

The purpose of the contest is to create opportunities for high school students to conduct research, demonstrate scientific achievements and identify candidates who will take part in the annual International Exhibition of Science and Engineering - İnteI ISEF.

At the event, the acting Minister of Education, Deputy Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the important role of the competition in identifying the knowledge and skills of creative thinking youth with modern thinking, in shaping them as a specialist scientist, meeting high international standards. It was noted that the state policy pursued in the field of education is aimed at training young people with a broad worldview.

Wide opportunities have been created for young researchers to conduct research, use new information technologies and study foreign languages. From this point of view, one of the strategic goals of education in accordance with the "State Strategy for the Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan" is the development of the potential of young people. The contest "Future Scientists", which takes place in our country for the seventh time, directs the attention of youth to modern problems and at the same time, this competition is a competition of innovative ideas, and encourages young people to create innovative products or new knowledge.

It was noted that this year 528 pupils with 336 projects received education in general education schools. According to the decision of the Commission of Scientific Expertise, 260 of them with 150 scientific projects received the right to participate in the contest.

It should be noted that the competition is conducted with the joint organizational support of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republican Committee of Free Trade Unions of Education Workers of Azerbaijan.
