I. Specialty formula:

2401.01- The completed works on methods, results and usage of zoological researches are approved to defense in the Dissertation Council to receive an academic degree on the specialty of Zoology.

II. Research areas:

1.        The origin and evolution of animals (based on palentological, genetic, geographical and ecological methods).

2.        Taxonomy, ecology and biology of animals.

3.        The quantity distribution of the separate groups and species of animals and their biological role in the formation.

4.        Geological, environmental, anthropological, and other reasons of their geographical distribution.

5.        The events of their lives (migration, breeding etc.).

6.        Relationships of animals in areal extention, nutrition and reproduction and interactions with each other.

7.        Study of rare and endangered animals and preparation of reproductive technologies to them.

8.        The impact of national economy, technical progress and cultural development on the animal world.

9.        The identifying of their natural resources and prediction of their use.

10.    The characteristic signs of the animals, living in various conditions (in the bottom part of the basin and water layers), their homologous and similar indicators, natural resources and rationalization of its use.

11.    A comprehensive environmental analysis of quantitative and qualitative indicators of animals (species composition, number, biomass, and their exchanges etc.).

12.    Comparative study of animals in different stages (in the natural area, modified area, transformed area) of ecosystem changing in anthropological ways.
